Kapula Camp is the only self catering luxury camp in Hwange National Park. It's tents are well appointed and the central kitchen and dining room provide all you need to create sumptuous meals. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen that you can enjoy in your own time.

EXPLANATORY NOTES ON OUR SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION

Option A: Sharing the main public areas with Option B

​

• Each tent is raised on a timber platform overlooking Kapula Vlei.

• Includes Tents N1 & N2 and also the Guide Tent.

• All three tents are situated on the eastern side of the main building.

• Tents 1 & 2: Each spacious tent accommodates 2 adults. The tents can be setup with either one (1) extra-long King size bed or two (2) extra-long 3-4 beds depending on guest's requirements. Please specify preference at time of booking.

• In addition, up to 2 stretchers can be added to each tent for accompanying children.

• The Guide Tent: This is a smaller tent on a concrete slab on ground level. This tent has the option of either 2 (two) single beds or 1 double bed configuration. This tent also has an excellent view over the Kapula Vlei and is situated adjacent to Tent 2.

• The maximum number of guests including children for option A is 8.
   

Option B: Sharing the main public areas with Option A

• Each tent is raised on a timber platform overlooking Kapula Vlei.

• Includes Tents 3 & 4.

• Both tents are situated on the western side of the main building.

• Tents 3 & 4: Each spacious tent accommodates 2 adults. The tents can be setup with either one (1) extra-long King size bed or two (2) extra-long 3-4 beds depending on guest's requirements. Please specify preference at time of booking.

• In addition, up to 2 stretchers can be added to each tent for accompanying children.

• The maximum number of guests including children for option B is 6.
   

Option C: Exclusive use of the whole of North Camp

Includes Tents N1, N2, N3 & N4. This option includes the occupancy of the Guide Tent.

• Configuration will be as set out above.

• Flat rate charged for all 4 (four) safari tents but rate includes use/occupancy of Guide tent.

• Irrespective of occupancy, this option ensures exclusive use of entire North Camp for 1 party.

• The maximum number of guests for the whole of North Camp including children is 14
   

Facilities include a Main Building & Fire Pit:

• The Main Building is situated in the centre of the camp, between Options A & B to ensure privacy between two (2) separate parties. It consists of an open-plan lounge with luxurious couches & chairs, a dining room section with a 12-seater table (can convert to 2 x 6-seater tables), with a magnificent view over Kapula Vlei from where guests can sit and watch the game activity in the Vlei.

• It also has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove/oven, two (2) fridges, one (1) deep freezer, pots & pans, cooking utensils, crockery & cutlery and glasses.

• Glasses etc. are to remain in camp. Guests are to bring their own glasses etc. to use at the public picnic sites, hides and on game drives.

• Guests need only to bring their OWN FOOD & DRINKS.

• Limited firewood is supplied by Kapula camp for the donkeys' hot water boilers and the fire pit.

 

Kapula's friendly staff will service clean the camp daily, make the fires for the hot water and the fires for the evening braais.

This North Camp facility will be shared by two parties if Option A or Option B is booked separately. If Option C is booked then the guests will have exclusive use of the main building and all other facilities.

SOUTH CAMP IS OUR SUPERIOR SELF-CATERING CAMP. THESE COMFORTABLE COMPACT TENTS PROVIDE EVERYTHING REQUIRED TO MAKE YOUR STAY MOST ENJOYABLE.

Accommodation

​

South Camp has 4 tents, all of which are en-suite and on a concrete platform on ground level. Tents S1, S2 & S3 can accommodate 2 guests each with the option of either a twin bed or a double bed configuration. Tent S4 is a family tent and can accommodate 2 adults with a twin bed or a double bed configuration as well as 2 children on two stretchers. Bedding and towels are included in the rate. Adequate lighting is provided by solar power. There are no plug points inside the tents.
 

There is a 5x5m kitchen tent equipped with steel lockup cupboards, tables and shelving and all the required kitchenware for guest use. There is a fridge, deep freeze and 2 X 2-plate gas stoves for guests. This facility will be shared by all guests staying at the camp.

Plug points are available for charging cellphone & camera batteries only -no kettles or hair dryers or any other electrical appliances are allowed.
 

There is a timber deck viewing platform raised approx. 1.6meters above the ground which gives guests an excellent view over Kapula Vlei. This platform has canvas walls and roof with dining room table and chairs and couches. It is a wonderful area to pass the time watching game activity in the Kapula Vlei when not exploring the area with your own vehicle. This facility will be shared by all guests staying at the camp.

South Camp tents can be booked as individual units. If there is more than one party in camp guests will have share the facilities.

Only tent 4 can accommodate children sharing with adults.

​

Maximum number of guests in camp at one time is 10 including children.
