Rhino Post Lodge

Rhino Post Safari Lodge is situated at the southern end of our 12,000 hectare private wilderness concession in the Kruger National Park. The concession shares a 15km unfenced boundary with the famous Mala Mala and Sabi Sand reserve with an abundance of wildlife moving freely between the two reserves. The concession and surrounding areas is noted as an excellent game viewing area, home to all of the Big Five as well as a variety of other mammals, reptiles and birds.

Twice daily game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles, both on private gravel concession roads and Kruger National Park roads, even after dark when Kruger Park Camp gates have closed.

The nature of a wilderness area is that there are no permanent structures, so Rhino Post Safari Lodge was built using natural materials of stone, wood, thatch and canvas to create an authentic bush ambience.

Each luxury suite is stylishly decorated and includes a spacious bedroom with impressive views of the riverbed from the bathroom, outdoor shower and patio deck.

Rhino Post offers morning and evening game drives while right on our doorstep, a mere 30 minute game drive from Rhino Post, is our sister lodge Plains Camp (home of Rhino Walking Safaris), an intimate 4 tent glamping experience where you can take in the sights, sounds, scents and tastes of nature on foot, study the little things we so often miss and revel in encounters with big game at their own level.  The manner of the trail is similar to those of SANParks in that it is a proper trail with walks of up to four hours allowing one to submerse ones senses in a hands on experience.  It’s not just a mid-morning stroll after breakfast.

For something special, consider a night at the Sleepout Decks. Enjoy dinner cooked over an open fire far from humankind, then sleep under the stars on raised platforms, keeping an ear open for the sounds of animals coming to drink at the waterhole below.
