Serra Cafema Camp
Named after the biggest mountain range in southern Angola, the camp is situated on the southern banks of the might Kunene River. Under big, shady “Ana” trees (Faidherbia albida) you will find a clean, peaceful camp with swimming pool, bar and a cosy atmosphere. Camp Serra Cafema is unique in this region and a paradise for nature friends and birdwatchers.
Besides breathtaking landscapes in the Hartmann Valley, which can be enjoyed on a 4x4 drive, the Kunene offers ideal opportunities for birdwatching. Now and again, whilst on a boat trip you can watch the Kunene crocodiles. Fishing from the small jetty at the camp or a short walk through the deserted, beautiful area will sustain unforgettable moments. Serra Cafema is often visited by the Ovahimba; nomadic people of Herero descent who still live and dress according to ancient customs and traditions.
